The Challenge
A corporate client in a high-rise building in Stamford, CT required motorized shading for a semi-circular reception area and two conference rooms to improve daylight and temperature control.
The curved design of the reception area added complexity, requiring precise shade alignment, along with a combination of sheer and blackout shades. The two conference rooms were outfitted with sheer shades to manage natural light.
Logistics also presented a challenge, as the building’s freight elevator had size limitations. To get the shades to the office space, the packaging had to be carefully modified on-site to fit within the elevator constraints.

The Solution
We met with the client and the property management team to review their goals and measure the windows. The shades were designed to disappear into the ceiling when fully retracted, using recessed shade pockets and flaps so the system blends seamlessly into the space and remains nearly invisible when not in use.
The final solution included both translucent and blackout shade materials. The translucent shades allow natural light while reducing glare, while the blackout shade provides full room darkening for presentations when needed.
